  • Hot Seat

    • stdesk@eso.org is an e-mail hotline, checked daily
    • Policy is to reply within one working day
    • Steady state numbers are benign (2 per day, to stdesk and individuals)
    • Level of requests ranges from trivial to labour intensive
    • Burst loads before proposal deadlines (>180 the week before Cy 7 Ph I)

  • Hands-on support

    • The number of on-site visitors has been declining
    • This is consistent with ESO experiences
    • Reasons: adequate computer resources, Internet
    • ECF users' room has been given to ESO DMD
    • 15 on-site visitors supported
